Bathroom Renovations - Ferny Grove Qld.

This residential project was in collaboration with Jeanette from Keylime Interiors and Decor, assisting with the design, design drawings and renders as well as bathroom material selections.

Client Brief : Our clients wanted to move away from their 90’s heritage style interior of maroon, green and cream ( refer to before photo ) to a contemporary style with a fresher and lighter colour palette of blue and beige tones that worked in cohesion in both bathrooms.

It was important for the ensuite renovation in particular that we designed an accessible bathroom. A wheelchair accessible feature has a wide shower with no step for a flat shower entry. To ensure safety we designed fixed seating rather than a mobile chair. The floor and bench seat tiles are slip resistant. The bench seat tiles are porcelain to last longer and easier maintenance. The space is also well lit using downlights in the ceiling and overhead lighting above the vanity mirrors.

Due to the positioning of the shower drains, both showers remained in the same position to minimize additional plumbing costs. The ensuite bath tub is freestanding as opposed to a fixed bath tub in the main bathroom. Both vanity units are the same shaker style design, with the main bathroom vanity having a durable 2 pack paint finish in blue.

The patterned feature tile along the back wall adds interest and calm vibes with the muted tones. The plain light blue feature tile compliments the patterned tile used in the shower niche and on the bench seat. Due to a shortage of the white feature tile which was to be on the nib wall, the main wall tile was used instead. Towards the end of reno completion, our clients opted to have no glass screen above the nib wall or shower door as you will see in the photos below.
